This is a part of a painting I made for a friend who I know understands what it is like to live in a family like mine. She is married and a step-mom to three teenagers with no kids of her own (yet!). I thought I was the only one in the world, until her. It is no accident that we met each other. It is no accident that we connect so well. I am deeply grateful for her. Her presence in my life is one of my biggest gifts.
I am deep into this Hundred Thank-Yous project. I am stressed and busier than I have ever been. And I am happier than I have ever been, in so many ways. I find myself busting out in song and dance A LOT. And this is all in the middle of a constant feeling of being behind with all that I have to do. I had to increase my sessions to the chiropractor from hovering over paintings all day! I am still filling orders on etsy and wholesale and illustrating a children’s book too. I’m grateful for my super supportive husband and all of the cold and snow that keeps me in my studio!
I am so excited for Toni and Hailey, the film makers who are making the 365 Grateful documentary. This past week they interviewed Mariel Hemmingway (swoon!) and Bobby Williams and Megan Castran (the woman who Oprah visited in Australia on taco night!) + other wonderful people doing great work in the world.
Their film already has wings and is soaring.
