I have noticed that I can be easily influenced at times.
There are lots of lovely people on the internet who are reeeally good at marketing. I can get caught up in thinking that I NEED what they have. I need the book, the course, the teleclass- and then, I will have it right. Then I will be good enough.
I made this painting to remind me to step back and check within my own heart. Maybe the class/book/blogpost will serve me well (so many have!) Or maybe I just need to sit down, lower the noise of the web, and do what I do.
Paint with love.
If this painting speaks to you, the print can be found here and the original painting here. xoxo

i know…comparing what others are doing in their art business can be just really crazy making!!! when i can let that go and just check in with me and do what feels right for me…i truly believe all will fall into place!
truth!
Lori, words can’t adequately express how deeply this has touched me. It has been my core message for so long, We have all we ever need right inside…if only we are still enough to hear the whispers of truth. Sometimes we just need reminders to guide us back to our own center. This is exactly what you have done for me today. I love you.
Alia, I’m so happy this resonated with you. Much love. xoxo
Thanks for the gentle reminder.
Thank you Theresa. xoxo
I just love the painting, the reminder and the message from one heart to the other.

Thank you so much Liv!
This resonates in every little part of me, Lori. The painting, the words…you.
Amen.
Hallelujah.
Julia I love that this resonates with you so much <3
What a beautiful post and amazing painting. I often have to remind myself too that looking inside myself is the best place to start. I blog as a form of creative release and most often blog on self love and finding the courage to trust in your worth and beauty. Thank you for your post. It feels kindred to my own heart. Stop by exaltedpeacock.com sometime and comment on anything that touches you…I would love your opinion.
Thank you Heather! Such a super sweet comment. I so appreciate you! I will be visiting your blog 🙂
you are making such wonderful heartwarming art! It is such a pleasure to see all your happy colored pieces! Luuuuv them all ? Conny
Thank you so much Conny! xoxo
I saw some of your work on pinterest and found this blog.
I love your artwork! May I use some of them on my FB page? Like this one. I will link to this url, of course.
Please let me know by the email. Thank you, Akemi
Hi Akemi! I am so happy you found your way here! Please feel free to use any of my images with links back to me. I really appreciate you asking. I am finding my work all over with web without links back to me so your kindness matters!
Warmest wishes,
Lori
Lori,
Thank you for allowing me to showcase your artwork! I really like them. They are beautiful, and the messages resonate so well. I am sure my audience love them as well.
It breaks my heart when I see other page admins or blog authors use other people’s work without proper credit. (And many of them claim they are personal development coaches or spiritual teachers…) I use to do some painting, and I am a writer, so I totally respect others’ work and effort.
Love,
Akemi
I love this. I feel the same as you do. I’m starting to write loriportka.com on my artwork but it will be a while before I get everything watermarked and I keep forgetting to do this with new images! Wishing you the best. xoxo
OH this message sooo speaks to me. Espeacially when all I see are artists teaching and being successful because of it…yet I don’t want to teach. Or artists who jet off to all these amazing art retreats and make endless contacts, etc…yet I can’t afford to nor spare time away from my motley crew…the list goes on, so I end up thinking I am not doing what everyone else is doing so how in the world will I find MY success…the search contines.
Are you still in the Goddess Circle Lori??? I looked for ya on there but couldn’t find you.
