We’re Hiring! Product Assembly/Shipping Assistant

Lori Portka, Happiness Through Art, is currently accepting applications for a Product Assembly/Shipping Assistant working out of our home studio in Fayetteville, NY. We provide quality, inspirational greeting cards and creative stationery products.

Once initial training is complete and you’re a human product/assembly machine you’ll be able to bring some work to your home to complete – as long as you don’t eat peanut butter & jelly sandwiches during the assembly process!

What Will You Be Doing?
Product Assembly – folding and stuffing our vibrant greeting cards (fast as you can without a pulling a muscle) and assembly and packaging of various stationery gift products: prayer flags, art magnets, gratitude kits and calendars.

Packing/Shipping – gathering and packing wholesale and consumer orders, processing postage and dropping off packages at the nearby Post Office. You’ll need reliable transportation for this part of the job.

How Much Do You Get Paid?
Starting pay is $8/hr. Your rate can quickly increase to $9-10/hour depending on how much of an assembly and packing/shipping wizard you are. We can help you there – we’re assembly Ninja’s!

How Many Hours Of Work, And What Time Of Day?
This is part-time position and our business is currently small, but growing, and workload can vary from week-to-week and month-to-month. That said, we expect that you’ll average 4-8 hours per week, to begin.

Work hours are flexible- (we’re cool…) when working out of our home office studio we’ll typically schedule you 2-4hrs, a couple times each week, somewhere between 9AM-3PM.

During peek sales periods (3-4 times per year) and particularly during the Christmas Holiday season (Oct-Dec), the hours required will likely double. We’ll work with you to plan ahead – like I said, we’re cool. We also expect the average weekly work hours to increase due to natural growth of the business during the course of the next 6-12 months.

Our Ideal Person
Should live within reasonable driving distance of Fayetteville, NY. You won’t want to commute from Schenectady for part-time work and you gotta have reliable wheels.

Must have strong fine-motor and organizational skills. This is no joke– we probably don’t need a concert pianist, but someone with 10-thumbs is going to struggle.

It would help, if…
• You’re comfortable working independently and don’t mind repetitive work

• You’re OK with learning some simple software programs: Etsy shipping, PayPal, USPS online shipping.

• You like dogs – we have two friendly rescue greyhounds that like to meet & greet all of our guests.
