I made this card before the hurricane hit Asheville, wiping out my studio building and much of our community.

Now as I look at it, the card has a different meaning for me. 

The weeks following the disaster I joked with my husband that as I rebuilt my business I would change the name of "Happiness Through Art" to "Hate in My Heart" and start making very dark and depressing art. Haha just kidding, but it’s still a running joke we are getting a lot of mileage out of!

But now, weeks out and with power, non-potable water, and WiFi restored, things are slowly getting better and I am seeing a way forward through all the grief in our small community.

Now, more than ever, it feels so important to surround ourselves with joy this holiday. I am wishing this for you too :)
