This listing is for prints of this painting, Keepers of the Flame, size 8x10 and 5x7.
This painting was created out of my despair and rage. It was made in solidarity with the helpers who are using their privilege to show up for their black and brown neighbors who are afraid to leave their homes. I was thinking of the line from Amanda Gorman, "Fear not those without papers, but those without conscience."
100% of the proceeds will go to Minneapolis. I am coordinating funding with my best friend, who lives there and is actively supporting individual families & mutual aid groups, which are providing everything from diapers to rent money for those who are terrified to leave their homes for work, school or even a doctor’s appointment.
Thank you for having snow boots on the ground, witnessing and helping people being terrorized, even when you are also terrorized. It’s a horror. I have tears for you and your neighbors and nothing but rage for those invading your beautiful city.
